Daughter of the West Reviews

Vickers plays a convent-raised half-breed who doesn't know she is part Indian until she falls in love with educated Navajo Reed. The two then defeat nasty Indian agent Woods, who is trying to bilk the tribe out of its rich mineral deposits by getting the Indians liquored up and having them sign away the rights to their land. The plot's not much, but Vickers' journey of self-discovery is handled thoughtfully. Native music and Indian dances lend a piquant touch to the proceedings, and an interesting sequence is Reed's trial by fire.
