This is a Victorian horror film set in San Francisco. Nielsen is a criminologist who often ends up playing second fiddle to his dwarf valet, Bolender, and a hypersensitive mandrake plant. Nielsen has a run-in with a horrible looking demon from hell which has been called up to transfer ugly and deformed sorcerer Richman into the body of his good-looking socialite twin brother, but Nielsen manages to thwart it. This originally was made as a pilot for a projected "Black Cloak" TV series.
