Murphy and Astor are Taylor's parents. She's a sheltered young woman who has never been on a date. The simple plot, based on Vina Delmar's flop play, has to do with the maturation of Taylor, her first date, first kiss, and just about every other teen experience except pregnancy and acne. Lydon (Henry Aldrich on radio and in film) gives Taylor the first of many, many screen kisses and for that alone he will always be a trivia question. It's such a mild and inoffensive comedy that it's a shame to say it is also a somewhat dull picture. Nice comedy bits from Sakall, Lockhart, and Byington in the roles they always seemed to have played. Taylor also sings, but it's hardly worth mentioning.
