Unimpressive blackmail scheme has Mathews scared about some relatively harmless letters found by a sinister New York artist. Cast as an ex-movie star who hitches up with a rising politician, she is beset by the implausibilities of the script. In the standard finale, the criminal is exposed and Mathews' reputation is saved.
