Confessions of an Opium Eater Reviews

Bizarre little drug adventure (producer/director Zugsmith seemed somewhat obsessed by this subject matter) starring Price as an early 1800s thrill seeker who becomes embroiled in San Francisco's Tong wars. He soon finds himself helping runaway slave girls escape the violence in the streets. Strange, drug-induced interlude involving a violent, slow-motion fight is a real standout for 1962. Zugsmith soon graduated to "adults only" fare by producing Russ Meyer's FANNY HILL (1964).
