Comin' Round the Mountain Reviews

Director Lamont hangs Abbott and Costello out to dry by snipping their routines, which could usually save flimsy capers like this. In a backwoods Kentucky town, the McCoy cousins--Shay, a cafe singer, and Costello, a magician--seek the fortune left to Costello by a dead uncle. The performing cousins are unaware that their families have been feuding for years over a love potion. Shay's singing is the only bright spot in this one. Songs: "You Broke Your Promise" (George Wyle, Irving Taylor, Eddie Pola), "Agnes Clung" (Hessie Smith, Dorothy Shay), "Why Don't Someone Marry Mary Ann?" (Wilbur Beatty, Britt Wood), "Sagebrush Sadie" (Wood).
