Abbott and Costello Go to Mars Reviews

Plastic-thin futuristic sets are the background of this shoddy production in which Bud & Lou launch a spaceship by accident. They land first in New Orleans during Mardi Gras, then go on to Venus which is peopled only by gorgeous women who have banished all males from the planet. The sight gags and pratfalls are unimaginative and often dull, and the boys' delivery is merely expeditious. A good character actor, MacMahon, is thrown away in the role of a bank robber who, along with sidekick Kruschen, forces Bud & Lou to blast off from New Orleans in a crazy escape attempt. Only the kiddies and super Abbott and Costello fans will enjoy this mindless mess.
