A Thin Line Between Love and Hate Reviews

A thin line? Not in this case. We liked this mindless, mean-spirited comedy about as much as we like mad cow disease. TV comic Martin Lawrence plays Darnell, a priapic buppie who compulsively beds and betrays every woman he meets (the movie fails to explain why any self-respecting woman would want to sleep with the unprepossessing Lawrence). Then he makes the mistake of seducing glamorous Brandi (Lynn Whitfield), who's sworn to wreak terrible revenge on any man who does her wrong. The rest of the film plays like a schlocky parody of FATAL ATTRACTION. We've already seen a schlocky parody of FATAL ATTRACTION -- remember FATAL INSTINCT? -- and we were not amused.
