Dexter (Michael C. Hall), Dexter

Just because Dexter only kills bad guys doesn't mean he should get a pass. Over the course of the series, Dexter killed at least 134 people (including a few innocents who didn't fit his "code").

Angelus (David Boreanaz), Buffy the Vampire Slayer and Angel

When he has his soul, Angel can be the man of your dreams. But once he becomes the soulless Angelus, his cruelty and ruthlessness can only be matched by his sire, Darla. No wonder Buffy once had to send Angel straight to Hell.

Stefan and Damon (Paul Wesley and Ian Somerhalder), The Vampire Diaries

Stefan and Damon might be the most desirable bachelors in Mystic Falls, but they really belong on the Most Wanted list. Whether their humanity is turned on or off, both Salvatore brothers have killed dozens - if not hundreds - of people over the course of their very long lives.

The Carver (Bruno Campos), Nip/Tuck

Although the Carver only killed one person, he's more than twisted enough to make the list. Plastic surgeon Quentin Costa would disfigure and rape his victims because he believed beauty to be inherently evil. To make things even more disturbing, Quentin was assisted in his crimes by his sister-cousin Det. Kit McGraw (their parents were siblings), with whom he also had a four-way with Christian and Kimber. Basically, this entire storyline was mortifying on so many levels.

Norman Bates (Anthony Perkins), Bates Motel

What's creepier than a serial killer? A teenage serial killer who pretends to be his mother each time he murders someone! And just because this Psycho prequel explains how Norman developed his Norma persona, it doesn't make it any less disturbing.

Red John (Xander Berkeley), The Mentalist

After a 10-year manhunt and the murder of Jane's wife and child, it was revealed that Sheriff McAllister was the prolific serial killer Red John. But while Red John struck fear into the hearts of so many, he was taken down in the most comical fashion: by Jane throwing a pigeon at him.

Sylar (Zachary Quinto), Heroes

Before Heroes went completely off the rails, it gave us one of the most memorable TV killers of all time. Driven by an insatiable greed, Sylar used his powers to slice open people's skulls and steal their abilities. You could say he was definitely a killer with brains!

Arya (Maisie Williams), Game of Thrones

When you play the game of thrones, you either live or you die -- and Arya Stark has no plans on dying. After training to become an assassin with the ability to change faces, it doesn't look like much will stop Arya from finishing checking those names off her kill list.

Henry Dunn (Chris Gorham), Harper’s Island

When the attendees of a wedding on a remote island begin to get murdered, everyone came under suspicion, but few saw this reveal coming. The groom Henry killed everyone - including his bride-to-be - in order to follow in the footsteps of his murderer father and bring himself closer to his best friend Abby. Unsurprisingly, Abby didn't exactly swoon over Henry's grand gesture.

Clarke (Eliza Taylor), The 100

In the short time since she arrived on Earth, Clarke blew up a small army of Grounders outside the drop ship, massacred the entire population of Mount Weather and has now pulled a literal switch that set off a nuclear meltdown on Earth. No wonder she's known as the Commander of Death.

Huck (Guillermo Diaz), Scandal

For Huck, torture and killing are like any other addiction. He even goes to AA for it! And fortunately, whenever he does relapse, he's surrounded by his fellow Gladiators who help him get back on the no-killing wagon.

12 of 26 HBO

Tony Soprano (James Gandolfini), The Sopranos

The original murderer with a heart of gold, Tony Soprano changed the TV landscape forever by giving us a complicated antihero who killed, yes, but was as torn up about his abhorrent actions as viewers were about rooting for him.

Mr. Yang (Ally Sheedy), Psych

Psych was a show known for its sunny skies and wacky shenanigans, but the USA drama could also get seriously dark. The closest Psych ever got to giving us a true Big Bad was when they introduced the serial killer Mr. Yin and his daughter Mr. Yang, who was forced to assist with Yin's crimes. Yang's own disturbing family dynamic leads her to become obsessed with Shawn when he was only a child, a fascination that ultimately resulted in the attempted murders of Shawn's mother, Juliet and Abigail.

Cassidy Casablancas (Kyle Gallner), Veronica Mars

Although he seemed shy and sweet on the surface, Cassidy is revealed to be the person behind Veronica's rape and the bus crash that almost took her life. But in the latter case, Veronica wasn't the intended victim. Cassidy set up the crash to kill everyone who had intended to come forward with their stories of being molested by Mayor Woody Goodman. Not wanting his own molestation by Goodman to be public knowledge, Cassidy killed the other victims before they could tell their stories.

Frank Delfino (Charlie Weber), How To Get Away With Murder

Frank is loyal to a fault. Whether he's trying to help Bonnie or fulfill his duties as Annalise's employee, Frank is always willing to go that extra (murderous) mile to get the job done.

Hannibal Lecter (Mads Mikkelson), Hannibal

Hannibal turned murder into an art. Not only did he use his victims to create genuinely mouth-watering meals (at least if you don't know they're made of human flesh), but he also used their remains to create stunning tableaus. Don't get us wrong. He's a monster. But you can't deny his eye for aesthetics.

Joe Carroll (James Purefoy), The Following

Plucking out the eyes of 14 college students before ever getting caught? That's definitely scary. But being so charming he's able to amass a cult following willing to murder in his name from behind bars? That is what makes Joe Carroll truly terrifying.

18 of 26 Diyah Pera/The CW

Blaine DeBeers (David Anders), iZombie

Look, you can't really blame a zombie for eating brains. But you can blame him for killing people to sell their brains to other zombies - many of whom he created for the sole purpose of expanding his brain empire. So not cool, dude.

19 of 26 HBO

Rene Lenier (Michael Raymond-James), True Blood

Harboring a deep hatred for vampires, Rene (aka Drew Marshall) went so far as to kill his own sister because she was a fangbanger. This set him off on a vampire-lover killing spree, which ended in a deadly showdown with his attempted victim Sookie.

Gaius Baltar (James Callis) and Six (Tricia Helfer), Battlestar Galactica

Poor Gaius. All he wanted was a relationship with Six, but he wound up unwittingly helping her commit genocide and nearly massacre the entire human race.

21 of 26 Netflix

Bob (Frank Silva), Twin Peaks

A demonic entity from the Black Lodge, Bob possessed humans to make them commit horrible crimes. So next time you blame Leland for Laura Palmer's death, remember that it really wasn't his fault.

22 of 26 FX

Bloody Face (Zachary Quinto), American Horror Story: Asylum

Yet another serial killer with mommy issues, Dr. Thredson chose his victims based on how closely they resembled his mother. He would then skin them to create his famed Bloody Face mask or stylish, albeit morbid and disgusting, lamps!

23 of 26 FX

Lorne Malvo (Billy Bob Thorton), Fargo

Everything about Lorne Malvo is bad, right down to his bangs. This charismatic gun-for-hire has no qualms killing for money or simply for his own amusement. But even while Malvo was committing the most unforgivable acts, his odd relationship with the bumbling Lester Nygaard always managed to make us smile.

24 of 26 Ursula Coyote/Sony Pictures Television/AMC

Mike Ehrmantraut (Jonathan Banks), Breaking Bad and Better Call Saul

A former cop, Mike used his criminal connections to become the go-to guy for the morally corrupt lawyer Saul Goodman and drug kingpins Gustavo Fring and Walter White. While his profession might be questionable, Mike always remained a devoted family man who stayed true to his word.

25 of 26 Michael Becker/FOX

Hester (Lea Michele), Scream Queens

The reveal that Hester was one of the Red Devil serial killers really shouldn't have shocked anyone, since she was always very open about her disturbingly sexual obsession with death. What is shocking is how far she went in her quest for vengeance. The former Chanel #6, Hester faked scoliosis and even stabbed herself in the eye as part of her plan to get revenge on the Kappas for letting her mother die in a bathtub while giving birth.

Landry Clarke (Jesse Plemmons), Friday Night Lights

Although Landry's body count isn't nearly as high as these other murderers, he definitely goes down as having one of the most memorable kills of all time. In Friday Night Light's second season, Landry accidentally killed a man who was attacking Tyra by hitting him with a lead pipe. Rather than go to the police, they decided to dump the body like dumb-dumbs. It was a truly bizarre dark spot in FNL's otherwise perfect legacy.
