Looking for something to binge this weekend while packing for Thanksgiving? There's a perfect mixed bag of options this week to suit everyone's taste. First up is a new Netflix premiere, The Kominsky Method from legendary sitcom hit-maker Chuck Lorre. There's also the first anthology season of Netflix's popular crime drama, Narcos. And last but not least, if you're itching for an escape, check out Showtime's new jailbreak drama Escape at Dannemora. They're all here in this week's TV recommendations.

These recommendations come courtesy of TV Guide Senior Editor Krutika Mallikarjuna, and are here to help you through your weekend binge. And if you're looking for even more suggestions, head over to TV Guide's Watch This Now!, which has hand-picked recommendations for all the best shows you can start watching immediately.

1. The Kominsky Method

A new single cam sitcom from Chuck Lorre -- creator of mega-hits like The Big Bang Theory, Young Sheldon, Two and a Half Men, and Dharma & Greg -- is an unexpected surprise because unlike Lorre's other shows, The Kominsky Method follows two aging friends facing the the trials and tribulations of the final phase of life. Starring Michael Douglas as a failed actor and current acting coach and Alan Arkin as his beleaguered manager, the show infuses joy and hilarity at unexpected turns. It might just be the lack of a laugh track, but something about The Kominsky Method's subtle humor and wit makes it a much more engaging Lorre show than what we've been trained to expect.

2. Narcos: Mexico

Narcos, a beloved crime drama from Netflix, followed the explosive journey of Columbia's most notorious drug cartels and crime lords for three seasons. Netflix had some trouble letting go when the creators felt that they has said all that they needed to say, so the showrunners came back with a game-changing pitch: what if they flipped the show into an anthology format? Thus Narcos: Mexicowas born. The high-octane season stars Diego Luna as Miguel Ángel Félix Gallardo also known as the crime lord, El Padrino (the godfather) and Michael Peña as the fresh faced undercover DEA agent determined to bring down one of Guadalajara's most violent cartels.

3. Escape at Dannemora

At first glance the new Showtime drama seems like your average suspense-filled jailbreak tale. Twist here, turn there, and a couple bent spoons later you're tasting freedom for the first time. But Escape at Dannemora is so much more than delicious plotty comeuppance. Starring Benicio del Toro and Paul Dano as convicts who make insane scheme to break out of the eponymous Dannemora, and Patricia Arquette as the prison worker who helps them, the emotional back and forth between the three -- Is it love? Is it just sex? Are these all elaborate machinations or is there real gratitude there? -- is hypnotic to watch.
