It is just as we feared, Good Doctor fans -- Shaun's (Freddie Highmore) career is in major jeopardy after he turned himself in for botching a surgery in the Season 1 finale. The first Season 2 trailer reveals that the show will pick up with Shaun's confession to Dr. Andrews (Hill Harper).

It's not clear whether Andrews will fire Shaun, like he promised he would do in the show's pilot, but it looks like he definitely will be stepping into Glassman's (Richard Schiff) job as Glassman enters treatment for his brain tumor. By the look of Andrews at the podium as he tells a clapping crowd of people it's time for a new chapter at St. Bonaventure, he's feeling really comfortable calling the shots at the hospital.

House Alum Lisa Edelstein Joins The Good Doctor Season 2

Andrews is the only one having a good time in the trailer though. Once again, Shaun must defend his ability to heal people despite being autistic. No one can argue that his savant syndrome is a gift, but as Andrews points out, Shaun's communication skills still need work to make him a competent surgeon.

Luckily, our favorite surgeon still has his team around to help. It looks like Jared (Chuku Modu) will be sticking around for at least the first episode and Claire (Antonia Thomas) has supported Shaun from the very beginning. We just don't know if Shaun can handle fighting for his job and being there for Glassman at the same time without something breaking down.

That's why we tune in though.

The Good Doctor Season 2 premieres Monday, Sept. 24 at 10/9c on ABC.
