The world can be an overwhelming place, which is why there's no shame in hiding out indoors and binge-watching your favorite shows. Sure, fresh air sounds great, but there's no other feeling like kicking back for a 36-hour marathon of The Crown accompanied by cheap wine and a frenetically active text chain. For those of you who plan to avoid sunlight over the next few days and aren't sure what to binge, TV Guide features editor Krutika Mallikarjuna has a few suggestions. Here's what you should stream this weekend.
1. Castle Rock
Set in Stephen King's terrifying multiverse, this psychological horror series tells an original story of darkness and light over a few square miles of Maine woodland. The eerie series is executive-produced by J.J. Abrams and stars the likes of Andre Holland, Melanie Lynskey, Bill Skarsgard, Jane Levy and Sissy Spacek. The first three episodes are now available to stream on Hulu.
2. Orange Is the New Black
This season, the ladies of Litchfield find themselves in a new maximum security facility following a prison riot that resulted in the deaths of two guards. With their old stomping grounds destroyed, they'll be forced to navigate a scary new world in which the guards play games with their lives and alliances are based on the color of your jumpsuit. Watch the drama unfold when Season 6 of the hit drama heads to Netflix on Friday, July 27.
Michael Peña headlines this thriller movie about a man whose worst nightmare comes true. The alien threat he'd be dreaming about has arrived and now he must fight to save his wife and daughter as the extraterrestrials have begun exterminating Earth's inhabitants. The film also stars Lizzy Caplan, Emma Booth and Luke Cage's Mike Colter. It also heads to Netflix on Friday, July 27.
