TSUNAMI, TEACH GET FILMS

NBC and British production company Granada America are developing a TV-movie about the tsunami that devastated Asian territories, killing 150,000 people, last December. The project, slated to hit the air sometime in 2006, will pin its narrative on the true story of a coastal orphanage impacted by the disaster. Another real-life story getting telepic treatment: Inspirational New York teacher/Oprah fave Ron Clark will have his tale told in a TNT original film now in preproduction.
