It should have come as no surprise when The Handmaid's Tale incorporated child brides into its second season, but it's still one of the most horrific things the show has ever done -- and it's not through yet. Executive producer Warren Littlefield says Eden (Sydney Sweeney) is fully capable of ruining both Nick (Max Minghella) and June's (Elisabeth Moss) lives.

"She's a teenage girl, but she is so completely indoctrinated into the world of Gilead. She is a true believer," Littlefield says. "As beautiful of a union and a bond that Offred/June and Nick have, and she's carrying his child and her child, it serves as a way to really, really complicate the beauty of that relationship. He's married."

You know what's even worse? Marriage in Gilead is a huge deal, and the fact that Eden is so indoctrinated means she's not going to find it noble when Nick refuses to consummate their union.

If he doesn't end up sleeping with her, "she's going to bring s--- down on [him]," Littlefield warns. "That storyline only gets more complicated and more powerful."
