A few new characters are headed to The Handmaid's Tale in Season 2, and we've got some serious scoop on one of them!
Hulu announced earlier this year that Bradley Whitford would guest star as a Commander in Gilead, but details beyond his character description (which paint him as a humorous, if mad, genius) were thin on the ground. TV Guide now has a few new clues about when to expect this character to turn up, and who he'll be sharing scenes with.
"Bradley Whitford comes in closer to the end of the season," Bruce Miller told TV Guide. "He plays a Commander, which -- even putting on that costume turns you into such a cruel troll that it's amazing to see a guy with such an affable personality be that cruel a character. It's really interesting. He's in a story with Alexis Bledel, and they're -- together, those acting styles together, are really remarkable."
Previous details about Whitford's character indicated his kind personality would make for a confusing predicament for his newest handmaid, so could that handmaid actually be Emily, a.k.a. Ofglen?
The Handmaid's Tale Season 2 premieres April 25 on Hulu.
