June is LGBT Pride month, typically a time for celebration of our LGBT friends, families and heroes. And TV is great place to find folks worthy of celebration, since for some 20 years, pioneers have been creating diverse and nuanced depictions of people who just happen to not be straight.
Here are some of the most important LGBT characters of all time--people who've made us laugh, cheer, cry and get furious. These are people whose faces, resilience and humanity we need to see -- now more than ever -- in order to remind us that, in the wake of tragedy, we will band together and that love will conquer hate.
