The Family Exclusive Sneak Peek: Claire Gets a Visit From the "Friendly Neighborhood Pedophile"

No one wants to be told they're a bad mother -- much less from an admitted pedophile.

But that's the situation Claire (Joan Allen) finds herself in on Sunday's episode of The Family, when Hank (Andrew McCarthy) breaks his restraining order to tell her that Adam Ben (Liam James) has been sneaking out in the middle of the night. When she accuses him of continuing to watch her son, Hank lets loose.

"It wasn't some random chance that he was taken," he says in the exclusive sneak peek above. "He was taken because you weren't watching him. You weren't then and you're not now. ... You have no idea where he's going, what he's doing. You have no idea who he is. Your head is so buried in the sand, you need the friendly neighborhood pedophile to come over here and tell you that you should be a better mother and keep an eye on your son."

So where is Ben going on his dead-of-the-night jaunts? The place where that key he took from the bunker opens. "You will find out where he comes from and more about his background," creator Jenna Bans tells TVGuide.com. "The key doesn't have to do with exactly where he's from and his family, but it tells you more about his motivations."
