The End of the F***ing World Season 2 Trailer Sure Makes It Look like James Is Dead

And Alyssa has found a surprising way to move on!

The trailer for The End of the F***ing World's second season is here, and, phew! It looks like the show is not going to try and pull some miraculous resurrection move to bring James (Alex Lawther) back. Instead, the new season will focus on what will become of Alyssa (Jessica Barden) as she deals with what happened in the brutal Season 1 finale, in which James was seemingly shot by law enforcement at the end of the duo's violent crime spree.

As the trailer shows, it looks like she will try her best to move on -- she's shown working at a diner and later dressed in full bridal attire as she walks down the aisle and nurses a beer at a reception -- but the Alyssa we came to know and love-hate in Season 1 is still lurking in there, too. We see hints of her renegade ways coming back into view with her traipsing through the woods in her wedding gown and speeding off in a (probably stolen) car. As the logline for Season 2 tells us, "You can't escape from yourself."

Netflix Is Coming of Age by Cornering the Market on Coming-of-Age Shows

The trailer also introduces a new character named Bonnie (Naomi Ackie) who will, like Alyssa, have a troubled past as well as a connection to our central anti-heroine. From what we've seen so far, she's going to be spend a good deal of time snooping on Alyssa, so let's just hope for Bonnie's sake that she knows who she's dealing with in Alyssa.

The End of the F***ing World Season 2 arrives on Netflix on Nov. 5.
