The NYPD is denying that phone thrower Russell Crowe received star treatment following his arrest Monday. On Wednesday's Late Show, the Oscar winner who was processed and released in just eight hours said a pal of his at the NYPD "made a few calls" and "simplified things." But a rep for the police department tells the New York Daily News that "the only different treatment Russell Crowe got was a police escort to the courthouse." And a jail cell with a plasma TV.
