Hit-starved NBC is hunting for the next Marc Cherry. Per Variety, the hungry Peacock net has put the word out to aspiring Hollywood comedy writers that it's looking to get a glance at good, possibly offbeat, material ahead of the competition. The deadline to submit your passion project (via an agent, natch) is Sept. 15. (Note to NBC: I know this fella. His name is Bill Lawrence. He's got an idea for a brilliant single-camera comedy about neurotic medical interns called Scrubs. I think you'd like it.) — Additional reporting by Matt Webb Mitovich
