Is Shadowhunters' Final Season Also Its Sexiest?

How is it possible that Malec got hotter?

The shipping on Shadowhunters has always been top-notch -- the writers named a whole episode after Malec in Season 1 after all -- but Season 3B has seriously taken it to the next level.

On the one hand, this season has begun to follow through on all that Sizzy slow-burn, complete with sexy vampire bites. It's less sexy when you factor in Isabelle's (Emeraude Toubia) addiction issues, but even those were used to show the progress she's made and served to reinforce the bond between these two characters. It's safe to say we're finally getting somewhere with Sizzy, and Toubia told TV Guide to expect "heat" and "fire" when it comes to those two, so we're all just tingling with anticipation whenever they share the screen.

In a similar vein, Luke (Isaiah Mustafa) is finally getting back into the dating game with Maryse (Nicola Correia-Damude) of all people. Though we've sensed these two had some serious chemistry in past episodes, we never expected their first hook-up to be quite so electric. That brief makeout session while hunting for warlock records was hopefully only the first of many to come for these characters, and we'll all just have to keep our fingers crossed that Luke will be luckier in love this time around. RIP Jocelyn (Maxim Roy).

On the other side of the board, even though Magnus (Harry Shum Jr.) and Alec (Matthew Daddario) have been a well-established couple for a while now, it feels like they're somehow hotter than ever this season. When they aren't steaming up the training room with barely contained sexual tension (and then completely unrestrained "f--- it, let's go bang" forays), they're killing us with breakfasts in bed and teasing lines about not hooking up while children are near because "you know how we get." Um, how exactly do you two get? Please, feel free to tell us, it's not like we're dying over here!

And finally, let's talk Clace. After years and years of repressed sexual tension, Jace (Dominic Sherwood) and Clary (Katherine McNamara) finally gave in and fell into bed together -- and what a fall it was! That only took three seasons! This moment was no doubt long-awaited by Clace fans, and it was definitely given its due diligence, making the final product somehow both sweet and steamy. While we're under no illusions that the good times can last -- her brother ruining the mood by carving an "I miss you" note into her arm while she should have been snuggling in the afterglow made that clear -- it is refreshing to watch this couple that's been through so much finally get to enjoy some alone time.

While all this lovely snogging is surely leading to an inevitable climax (sorry, couldn't resist) at the end of what we now know is Shadowhunters final season, it's also making us wonder: Is Shadowhunters' final season also its sexiest? If these last few episodes are any indication, it sure seems like it.

Shadowhunters airs Mondays at 8/7c on Freeform.
