Netflix delivered some good news on Friday: Sex Education has been renewed for Season 2.

The coming-of-age dramedy stars Asa Butterfield as Otis, the 16-year-old son of a liberal sex therapist (Gillian Anderson), in an awkward but brutally honest tale of growing up. Otis has problems being sexually open himself, but he nevertheless winds up running a sex advice clinic with Maeve (Emma Mackey), the hottest girl in school.

The series premiered in January and was a critical success. Netflix doesn't typically release viewership numbers but did announce that more than 40 million people have tuned into the dramedy during the first four weeks it's been on the streaming service. Season 2 will again comprise eight episodes and will begin production this spring in the U.K.

"The reception to series one has been so exciting," said series creator Laurie Nunn in a statement. "Seeing how people across the world have connected to characters that began as ideas in my head is incredible. I'm hugely grateful to every person that has taken the time to watch the series, and I can't wait to continue this amazing journey."

Sex Education Season 1 is now streaming on Netflix.
