Following an incident with GOP presidential candidate Michelle Bachman last month, Jimmy Fallon's house band The Roots will now have to clear their Late Night song choices with NBC, according to The Associated Press.

NBC came under fire in November when The Roots played the 1985 Fishbone song "Lyin' A-- B---" as Bachmann walked on stage. The network later apologized for the incident and said the band had been reprimanded.

NBC is now taking the extra step to make sure it doesn't happen again. Roots front man ?uestlove said he understands the decision and that the network won't stand in the way humor.
"It was kind of wrong for me to throw (NBC) under the bus without telling them what it was, so I understand from a business standpoint," he told the AP."It's still a comedy show, so they promise not to step on my toes or that type of thing, but they definitely want to know the title of the song, the subject matter of the song, [and] can it be seen as an insult?"
