How to Watch the Rockefeller Center Christmas Tree Lighting

We know you've been fa-la-la-la-la-ing along to Christmas carols on the radio since Nov. 1 since this country is more obsessed with the holidays than it is with Ariana Grande, but does the season truly start until the giant 72-foot tree in Rockefeller Center is lit? We don't think so!

The annual event -- it's going on year 86! -- for the tree-lighting will air on NBC as part of the official yearly gala, Christmas in Rockefeller Center. NBC's Today anchors will host the event as emcees for the evening with performances from musical icons like John Legend, Martina McBride, Diana Krall, Tony Bennett, Diana Ross, Brett Eldredge and Pentatonix.

The broadcast will air live on the East Coast at 8/7c on NBC, but if you're looking to just tune in for the actual lighting, that's slated to occur around 9/8c, in the middle of the broadcast. For all you West Coast folks, the show will be tape-delayed and aired again at 8 PT.
