Running away with your brother's fiancée — as Bash (Torrance Coombs) did in Reign's midseason finale — probably isn't the wisest idea, especially when that sibling is the future king of France, with an army at his disposal.
"Mary [Adelaide Kane] and I have taken refuge in a small inn, but we're betrayed by the innkeeper and [soldiers] come for us," Coombs reveals of the CW drama's Jan. 23 episode. "There are severe consequences when we get back to the castle."
With Bash aware of Nostradamus's prophecy that a Mary-Francis marriage will result in his brother's death, "Bash has to stay strong," Coombs says, even as he endures a brutal beatdown. And that's not the only painful twist. "Mary makes a big decision that completely affects her relationships with Francis and Bash. After this episode, things are never going to be the same."
