In the video below (via Dlisted), Ada Nieves explains from New York's Rat Convention the activism behind dressing her pet rats in clothing (this clothing, by the way, sometimes matches her own). "Humanizing an animal makes it easier for us to bond. Now we can use this to advocate for animals of the third kind," she says. Of course, this makes even more advocacy necessary (for people who dress their rats, of course), but whatever: cross that bridge when you come to it.
In any event, this video mostly proves that rats are just breathing Barbie dolls with curious backsides. Well, that and the fact that wedding veils complement rat whiskers extremely well.
