Sunday's Academy Awards hit a 10-year viewership high.
The nearly three-and-a-half-hour broadcast drew 43 million viewers, making it the most-watched Oscars since 2004 and the most-watched  entertainment program since Friends' series finale in May 2004. The show also improved 6 percent on last year's audience, marking the third straight year the Oscars has increased its viewership.

Oscar fashions hits and misses

In the 18-to-49 demographic, the Oscars hit a 12.9, down a tenth from last year.CBS' The Amazing Race was the only show to air a new episode opposite the Oscars and matched last week's series low against the Olympics with 6 million and a 1.5.
