Ratings: Dads, Brooklyn Nine-Nine Premieres Boost Fox

Dads  and Brooklyn Nine-Nine kicked off Fox's new comedy blockTuesday with solid debuts.
Proving that there's no such thing as bad publicity, the controversialDads bowed to 5.6 million viewers and a 2.1 in the adults 18-to-49 demographic, up 24 percent from Raising Hope's premiere in the slot last year. Brooklyn Nine-Nine, one of TVGuide.com users' most-anticipated new comedies, followed with 6 million viewers and a 2.5, improving 19 percent from Ben & Kate's series premiere a year ago.

Lead-out New Girl (5.6 million, 2.9) rose a tenth for its Season 3 premiere, but The Mindy Project (4 million, 1.9) dropped half a point from its series premiere last year. The Season 2 premiere, however, was available online early.On NBC, Million Second Quiz (5.2 million, 1.1) inched up from Monday's episode and America's Got Talent (10.9 million, 2.4) grew a tenth.
