Paris Hilton has agreed to plead guilty to two misdemeanors in exchange for a suspended jail sentence, a Nevada prosecutor told The Associated Press.

Hilton, who was arrested last month in Las Vegas on cocaine possession charges, will plead guilty to drug possession and obstructing an officer, Clark County District Attorney David Roger told the AP.

The 29-year-old hotel heiress will avoid a felony conviction, but she must serve a year of probation, complete a drug abuse program, pay a $2,000 fine and serve 200 hours of community service, according to a plea agreement obtained by the Las Vegas Review-Journal. Roger and Hilton's attorney, David Chesnoff, both confirmed the details of the agreement to the AP, and Roger said he hopes the agreement will keep Hilton out of trouble.

"If she is arrested for anything besides a minor traffic violation she will spend a year in jail," Roger said. "There will be no discussion. The court will have no discretion."

Hilton, whose TV credits include My New BFF and The Simple Life, was stopped in late August after police officers detected what they thought was marijuana smoke coming from a vehicle being driven by Las Vegas nightclub mogul, Cy Waits. The heiress was arrested on cocaine possession charges after a small plastic bag containing 0.8 grams of cocaine fell out of her purse, police said.

Hilton was briefly detained in South Africa in July for a marijuana charge. The case against her was dropped after her friend pleaded guilty.

Hilton is expected to appear in court early Monday morning.
