PILOTS CLEARED FOR TAKEOFF

The fall 2006 TV season seems just around the corner, as nets OK more pilots. Getting the green light in recent days: Hollis and Rae, an ABC drama about two female best friends, a cop and a prosecutor, from Steven Bochco and Thelma & Louise screenwriter Callie Khouri; an as-yet-untitled Fox sitcom about the current state of male-female relationships, from Sledge Hammer! creator Alan Spencer; and two FX dramas — Low Life, starring Brit comedian Eddie Izzard as the father of a clan of con artists, and Dirt, a damning look at the world of tabloid journalism executive-produced by Courteney Cox and David Arquette.
