They've taken on the science of Breaking Bad and the zombies of The Walking Dead, and now they're taking on ... Bart Simpson? Mythbusters hosts Adam Savage and Jamie Hyneman will tackle the myths of The Simpsons in Mythbusters' Season 13 premiere next month, reports Entertainment Weekly.
"But The Simpsons is a cartoon," you say! And you're correct. So what are Savage and Hyneman looking to prove or debunk about an animated series? Savage told EW they spent a lot of time scouring The Simpsons' 25-year history to find situations they could actually try to recreate.
Look for an attempt to reenact the scene from the 1990 episode "The Crepes of Wrath," in which Bart tosses a cherry bomb into a toilet, causing all of the school's toilets to gush like geysers.
They'll also be attempting to reenact a scene from The Simpsons' fifth season in which Homer jumps between a wrecking ball and his house in order to stop the house from being destroyed. Savage said they had to find two houses to potentially destroy, as well as create a life-size Homer Simpson figure, in order to carry out the experiment.
Once it's done with The Simpsons, Mythbusters' 13th season will also address myths from the Indiana Jones film franchise. And if you've spent the last year wondering whether Walter White's machine-gun trick from the Breaking Bad series finale could actually work, you're in luck, because they'll investigate that, too.
Mythbusters returns with all-new episodes on Saturday, Jan. 10 at 9/8c on Discovery.
