Miley Cyrus Defends Herself in Latest Photo Controversy

Miley Cyrus is defending herself over another photo controversy — but she remained fully clothed this time.

The teen phenom reportedly took to her official fan site to insist that the media is "making something out of nothing" over a photo in which she and several other people slant their eyes. (Though there is an Asian-American in the group, he is not making the same gesture.)

The photo garnered criticism from the OCA, an organization that describes itself as dedicated to advancing the interests of Asian-Pacific Americans. "The photograph of Miley Cyrus and other individuals slanting their eyes currently circulating the Internet is offensive to the Asian Pacific American community and sets a terrible example for her many young fans," the group said in a statement.

Cyrus denies that she is in the wrong. "In NO way was I making fun of any ethnicity!" she writes, according to Us. "I was simply making a goofy face. When did that become newsworthy?" Cyrus also suggests that she may be the new victim of media scrutiny in Hollywood. "If that would of [sic] been anyone else, it would of [sic] been overlooked!" she continued. "I definitely feel like the press is trying to make me out as the new 'BAD GIRL'!"
