The secret is peanut butter...

Marvel's Cloak & Dagger fans with rodent phobias were probably having a bad time during Thursday night's episode, and they should probably exit this post immediately because TV Guide is breaking down how Mina's (Ally Maki) creepy mouse scene came to life.

It seemed normal enough, a mouse having to go through a maze, but the normal quickly turned creepy during the episode. A short power outage revealed that Mina's mouse had duplicated, but then once the lights came back on, one mouse decided to eat its sudden twin! Brutal, man.

Our "Did You Know" exclusive video explains that Maki actually had to deal with over 40 mice to get the scene completed, and they pooped on her hand more than once before getting into the maze. Ew! There were a lot of camera tricks deployed to get the action sequence the director needed for the episode too. The production crew even put peanut butter on the mouse to get him to lick his paws, which was then made to look like he was licking off the blood of his eaten twin.

Seriously, don't eat while watching this video, ugh.

Marvel's Cloak & Dagger continues Thursdays at 8/7c on Freeform.
