Manifest Season 2 Trailer Teases Startling Revelations

Updated, 1:40 p.m. EST: Manifest released a Season 2 sneak peek at New York Comic Con, one that shows the mystery of what happened on Flight 828 deepening. In it, passengers begin to understand they may be meant for something greater than they thought possible.

Things are about to get even more complicated on Manifest. Stars Josh Dallas, Melissa Roxburgh, Athena Karkanis, J.R. Ramirez, Luna Blaise, Jack Messina, Parveen Kaur, and Matt Long along with showrunner Jeff Rake gathered at this year's New York Comic Con to dish new details about Season 2 of the NBC drama, and the passengers of Flight 828 are in for a difficult road ahead.

During Sunday's panel at Madison Square Garden, Rake confirmed that the new season, which arrives in Winter 2020, will revolve around the death date theory which suggests that the passengers are living on borrowed time. As the gang searches for answers, Ben will be especially troubled with finding out the truth and the pressure of that sets him on a different path.

"As we go through the season, that self-inflicted burden he puts on himself will weigh on him. Something will [happen] that will have him shift towards a different way of thinking," Dallas said, adding that it will lead to more open-minded thinking. And while Ben won't turn to the dark side, the actor did tease some "dark decisions" in the coming episodes.

Rake also teased the arrival of new character including Captain Bowers, who may or may not be Michaela's new partner depending on the outcome of that cliffhanger which saw Jared (J.R. Ramirez) and Zeke (Matt Long) caught in a violent altercation that ended with a gun going off just as Michaela made her way up the stairs. Plus, we'll meet a "cool, edgy bartender" who's romantically interested in one of the leading men, and who may have ties to the hate group that left red X's on passenger's houses in Season 1. The show will also introduce the mystery person who was supposed to fly with Saanvi to Jamaica.

Warner Bros. unveiled a new trailer with never-before-seen footage which served up a first look at Pretty Little Liars: The Perfectionistsalum Garrett Wareing's TJ Morrison, who may or may not be a murderer. After getting a teaching job at university, Ben takes the college student under his wing. Whether or not he actually buried a body in a garden remains to be seen, but it's clear that he'll be a huge part of Ben's life this season--especially since he'll also be involved with Olive in some form.

A cross between Lost and This Is Us, the enigmatic drama centers on the overarching mystery of commercial Flight 828 which suddenly re-emerges after having been missing for five and a half years. Among the passengers are Ben (Dallas) and Michaela Stone (Roxburgh), whose unexpected returns uproot the lives of their grieving families. As they and the rest of the confused civilians readjust to everyday life, they quickly discover that they're all linked by a phenomenon known as the Calling, which appears in different ways; in some cases it's a voice in their heads, while in others it's an irresistible urge.

The new season will welcome new faces like Wareing and Blue Bloods alum Yasha Jackson, who will recur as Suzanne, a dean at Astoria University and Ben's ex-girlfriend who reconnects with him after they run into each other on campus.

Manifest returns for Season 2 in Spring 2020.
