In 2005 more than 250 feature and indie films and 100-plus new and returning TV series shot in New York City, to the tune of $600 million worth of new revenue and more than 6,000 resulting jobs. Suddenly, the extralong lines at my fave dirty-water-dog cart make a lot more sense.
