Katy Perry Opens Up About John Mayer, Russell Brand and Sex Life

Katy Perry's love life is only second to Taylor Swift's, and much like Swift, Perry isn't afraid to talk about it.

"I guess I happen to be attracted to high-frequency men," Perry jokes about her inability to find long-term love in the new issue of Cosmopolitan (as reported by E!).

Shocking celebrity splits

Regarding her divorce from Russell Brand after 14 months of marriage, Perry said she learned a lot. "It feels like a hundred lifetimes ago, so it's like digging up an old grave. A lot of therapy has happened and a lot of understanding and growth," she explained. "Sometimes you have to go through all this to get your grips on life and figure out what the next boundaries in your love life are going to be. You have to go through the mud in order to find that peaceful place. In the long run, it was necessary for me to have more of a teammate."

When asked whether she'll get back with on-and-off again beau John Mayer, from whom she split earlier this year, Perry says that's the farthest thing from her mind. "I know it sounds really hippie sh--, but I'm living in the now and not fantasizing about the future or [being] torn up about the past. I'm super Eckhart Tolle. I have a lot of respect for [John] still, and I know it goes both ways," she said. "There's no bad blood, but I'm sure there will be inspired songs."

However, Perry says she's not likely to stay single for long, revealing that the longest she's gone without sex is "maybe six months or a year" and that she isn't into one-night stands. "I carry a lot of rose quartz, which attracts the male," the singer said.
