Would Royal Pains' Hank and Evan really have been able to fly in and out of Cuba?

Concierge doctor Hank Lawson (Mark Feuerstein) and his brother Evan (Paulo Costanzo) were whisked off via private jet to Cuba by their benefactor, Boris (Campbell Scott) — but what about the ban that prevents Americans from visiting the communist country? It's possible that arrangements could've been made to get Hank around the red tape because of his M.D. — dispensations are made for medical professionals on research trips — but it's unlikely that it would've been so spontaneous. "It requires a lot of paperwork to get the various permits and visas," says Saejin Camp, a flight advisor for OneSky Jets, a jet charter service. "We do surprise trips all the time to different destinations, and Cuba isn't one of them."
