The reviews of this year's Oscars host are trickling in. While The New York Daily News opines that Jon Stewart "was funnier reacting to events as the evening progressed than in his opening monologue," the Associated Press was a bit more stern, saying he "proved too deferential, too nice and too obvious in his targets." In other words: As usual, people are mistaking the hosting job and its responsibilities with that of, say, being the leader of the free world. Stewart kept the show moving, poked fun at what sucked ("We've run out of clips!") and made us laugh several times. "Mission accomplished," as one might say.
