John Mayer Leaves Twitter

John Mayer has said goodbye to Twitter. The recording artist — who frequently used the social networking website to apologize for offensive statements he's made and fight with Perez Hilton, among other things — has discontinued his account, his rep announced Monday.

The recording artist — who frequently used the social networking website to apologize for offensive statements he's made and fight with Perez Hilton, among other things — has discontinued his account, his rep announced Monday.

Mayer, 32, had more than 3.7 million followers. He left the site as he prepares to return to the recording studio, but plans to communicate with fans through his blog.

Mayer joins singers Miley Cyrus, Demi Lovato and LeAnn Rimes as stars who have all left or taken breaks from Twitter this year.
