Here's where you can watch the Rami Malek film, which snagged him a Best Actor Oscar
Musical biopics are so cliche in Hollywood that the genre was lampooned thoroughly and definitively 10 years ago with Walk Hard. And yet, thanks to the blockbuster success of 2018's Bohemian Rhapsody, what's old is new again. (See also the Elton John biopic Rocketman.) Focused on Freddie Mercury and Queen's rise to success, Bohemian Rhapsody managed to snag a handful of trophies during the 2019 award season (including an Oscar for star Rami Malek in the Best Actor category), even though the production was littered with behind-the-scenes drama and director Bryan Singer was fired from the project before it even completed.
Bohemian Rhapsody follows the story of Mercury and his bandmates at the start of their musical journey with Queen, leading up to their performance at Live Aid in 1985. The movie doesn't shy away from the fact that Mercury contracted AIDS and later died from complications from it, but it does skip out on truly exploring his sexuality. Hey, at least the songs are killer (queen).
If you're looking to check out this one, it's already available in a few locations to watch without leaving the comforts of your couch.
Sorry, but you're out of luck if you want to watch the movie on Netflix. There sadly aren't any Queen/Freddie Mercury documentaries on the platform, either. Come on, Netflix.
Great news! Starting July 6, Bohemian Rhapsody will be available on linear HBO, HBO Go, and HBO Now.
Nope. But starting July 6, Hulu subscribers can watch Bohemian Rhapsody via the HBO add-on to the service.
While you can't stream Bohemian Rhapsody for free on Prime Video, you can rent it for $5.99, or purchase it via Amazon for $19.99. If you're really in the mood for some free Queen, though, there are a dozen different Queen documentaries you can stream via Prime Video.
Yes! You can stream the movie on Vudu for $5.99 or purchase it for $19.99. No additional subscriptions are needed to watch it.
Depending on your cable provider, you might be able to access Bohemian Rhapsody On Demand, but it varies. Check your local listings.
If you're someone who still enjoys renting physical DVDs, the movie is currently available through Red Box (and to rent, it's only $1.75!!). You've just got to be within a reasonable distance to a Red Box, and also make sure it's available at your selected Red Box, as titles will vary.
