Wanna feel old? Well, consider the fact that it's been almost three decades since Home Alone came out. [Cue the Kevin slap-face scream gif.]

The film — directed by Chris Columbus from a John Hughes script — is now a bona fide classic, featuring then-child star sensation Macaulay Culkin as Kevin McCallister, the spoiled black sheep of his sprawling family who's accidentally left behind in Chicago when the rest of his family takes off for a Christmas vacation in Paris.

At first, he's all too delighted to have the cushy abode all to himself. His brother Buzz will not be around to pick on him anymore, and cousin Fuller won't be wetting the bed. His biggest problem is flimsy grocery bags and that freaky basement furnace. Otherwise, it's junk food and R-rated gangster movies all day long for him. Heyyy, Snakes.

The Ultimate Holiday Viewing Guide

But when a pair of burglars named Harry (Joe Pesci) and Marv (Daniel Stern) mark his house as the "silver tuna" of the neighborhood, he has to fight back — ya know, instead of just calling the police and filling them in on the fact that he's A) a child in trouble, and B) witnessing a spate of break-ins at all his neighbors' homes. This means booby-trapping his entire house so that the perps will endure some hilarious and humiliating obstacles along the way, and it's a rip-roaring good time.

So, if you're ready to revisit this festive 1990 favorite this season, you're in luck.
