On the TV front, the Hollywood Foreign Press Association's love affair with HBO continues. The cable network was once again the big Golden Globe winner, taking home trophies for best comedy series (Sex and the City), best drama series (Six Feet Under) and best miniseries (Band of Brothers). HBO performers earning kudos included Sarah Jessica Parker (best comedy actress for Sex and the City), Rachel Griffiths (best supporting actress for Six Feet Under) and Stanley Tucci (best supporting actor for Conspiracy). Other small-screen victors: Jennifer Garner (best dramatic actress for Alias), Kiefer Sutherland (best dramatic actor for 24), Judy Davis (best actress in a TV movie or miniseries for Life with Judy Garland: Me and My Shadows) and former Freaks and Geeks star James Franco (best actor in a TV movie or miniseries for James Dean).
