See a photo of Essie Davis on set
Babadook star Essie Davis will appear on the sixth season of Game of Thronesas Cersei Lannister, Entertainment Weeklyreports.
No, the Australian actress isn't replacing Lena Headey. Instead Davis will appear as a member of a traveling theater troupe in Braavos that stages a play, "The Bloody Hand," which dramatizes all the events in Westeros since the show began. In the play-within-the-show, Davis will play Cersei, as if the wig didn't make that clear enough.
Fans of the book will be happy to see Maisie Williams alongside Davis, hinting that a certain Arya scene from The Winds of Winter will be featured this season.
