END OF AN ERA

Paramount chairman Sherry Lansing, who broke ground by becoming the first female to head a major Hollywood studio, announced Tuesday that she will step down next year to "do something different." During her 12 years at Paramount, the 60-year-old mogul presided over such hits as Forrest Gump, Titanic and Braveheart. Of course, she also gave us recent flops The Four Feathers, Narc and Lara Croft Tomb Raider: The Cradle of Life, so this news isn't all bad.
