CNN Pulls Asia Argento's Parts Unknown Episodes

All of this is awful

MaryAnn Sleasman

In the wake of allegations that then 37-year-old Asia Argento sexually assaulted actor Jimmy Bennett when he was 17, CNN has pulled episodes of Anthony Bourdain Parts Unknown featuring Argento from their streaming service, CNN Go.

Argento was dating the late Anthony Bourdain at the time of his death and featured in two episodes of the hit series, "Rome" and "Hong Kong." She also directed a third episode.

CNN's decision to pull the episodes featuring Argento comes in the wake of X-Factor Italy removing Argento as a judge in the series' 12th season.

Argento has denied the allegations that she assaulted Bennett, who played her character's son in the 2004 film The Heart is Deceitful Above All Things, in a hotel in 2013. Argento admitted that Bennett was paid $380,000.00 as part of an agreement to remain silent about the incident, a payment that Argento has since claimed was encouraged by Bourdain.

Argento, with Rose McGowan, was one of the most notable actresses to accuse Harvey Weinstein of sexual harassment, effectively starting the #metoo movement that has shed a light on pervasive sexual harassment and assault within Hollywood circles.
