NBC Is Still Unsure If Chris Hardwick Will Return as Host of The Wall

In the wake of the news that AMC has pulled Chris Hardwick's talk show, NBC said it is also reconsidering its relationship with The Wall host in the wake of allegations that he emotionally and sexually abused his former girlfriend Chloe Dykstra.

"These allegations about Chris Hardwick took us by surprise as we have had a positive working relationship with him. However, we take allegations of misconduct very seriously. Production on The Wall does not begin until September, and in the meantime we are continuing to assess the situation and will take appropriate action based on the outcome," the network said in a statement Saturday.

Dykstra never mentioned Hardwick by name in her post detailing the nature of her harrowing experiences, or in her subsequent tweets on the subject, but the fallout has been swift. On Friday, Hardwick's name was scrubbed from Nerdist, the company he founded and later sold. Hardwick's AMC series Talking with Chris Hardwick was also pulled from AMC's schedule, and his plans to moderate panels for Doctor Whoand The Walking Deadat San Diego Comic-Con were cancelled.

Hardwick has denied Dykstra's account of their long-term relationship, which she said included a pattern of verbal abuse, controlling behavior, and sexual coercion.
