Chris Brown and Rihanna, who reunited at Sean "Diddy" Combs' Miami home a few weeks after Brown was accused of attacking his superstar girlfriend, are now reportedly "taking a break," a source told E!.
The "break" is not an official breakup, but the two have decided to spend some time apart, the source said.
Brown and Rihanna were on opposite coasts over the weekend. While he remained in Los Angeles to work on his album, Rihanna jetted to New York City, where she dined with Brandy, Beyonce and Jay-Z Friday night at the Spotted Pig. On Saturday, she enjoyed dinner with friends at Da Silvano.
Like Brown, the 21-year-old is also working on new music, producer Evan Rogers told Entertainment Weekly. He added that singer is "very aware" of the advice Oprah, Dr. Phil and Tyra Banks have tried to give her via their domestic violence specials last week.
"I think that it matters to her, but there's a line that she walks between being human and caring when you hear these kinds of things, and separating your personal life from your professional life," Rogers said. "She's doing the best she can and this is a very difficult time that she's going through right now and she's going to learn a lot from it."
While a TVGuide.com poll says Rihanna will face fan fallout, Rogers doesn't believe that to be the case.
"I think that when the dust settles, she's going to be fine," he said. "The bottom line is Rihanna is a superstar and like other artists, the reception from her fans will mostly depend on how good an album she makes next time out and how great the songs are."
