As Liam Hennessy, an undercover cop who's walking a thin blue line between good and evil in his attempt to take down crooked Alderman Ronin Gibbons (Delroy Lindo), Lush brings an intensity so simmering, you can't keep yours eyes off him. In this week's high-powered episode, directed by Adam Arkin (Sons of Anarchy), Hennessy helped Gibbons save the life of an elderly constituent during a record-breaking heatwave. Still, such a selfless act may not be enough to assuage Hennessy's conscience for torching a house, unaware there was someone inside it.

Lush is no stranger to gritty drama, having played regular roles as a Hell's Kitchen street tough in The Black Donnellys and a loose-cannon corporal in Generation Kill. Here's hoping that unlike those two underrated shows, Code returns for a second season.

Does Billy Lush blow you away on The Chicago Code?
