Box Office: Did Dracula Overtake Gone Girl?

Gone Girl retained its place at the top of the box office chart over the weekend, earning $26.8 million in its second week in theaters, Box Office Mojo reports.

Gone Girl retained its place at the top of the box office chart over the weekend, earning $26.8 million in its second week in theaters, Box Office Mojo reports.

That was enough to edge out newcomers Dracula Untold and Alexander and the Terrible, Horrible, No Good, Very Bad Day, which finished the weekend in second and third place with $23.4 million and $19.1 million, respectively.

At No. 4 was Annabelle with $16.3 million.

Fall TV Popularity Contest: Which new shows won you over?

New release The Judge landed in fifth place with $13.3 million, followed by The Equalizer at No. 6 with $9.7 million.

The thriller Addicted had a modest debut, opening in seventh place with $7.6 million.

Rounding out the Top 10 were The Maze Runner (No. 8, $7.5 million),The Boxtrolls (No. 9, $6.7 million) and Left Behind (No. 10, $2.9 million).
