The diva's HBO special premieres Saturday at 9/8c, and until then the Beyhive will be buzzing
After releasing a teaser on Instagram Saturday announcing an HBO special called Lemonade that had the Internet goin' nuts, Beyoncé added more fuel to the anticipatory fire with a full trailer that only deepens the mystery.
The Lemonade trailer has no new music, just quick cuts between menacing shots of storm clouds and empty parking garages, and Beyoncé setting fire to a spa -- soundtracked by horror-movie sound effects and Beyoncé saying things like "think of lovers as trees" and "wrap your legs around me" in a whispery voiceover.
It's like a David Lynch version of Beyoncé. We're not sure what to make of it, but we're excited.
An unnamed HBO executive told USA Today that Lemonade will be a documentary similar to her 2014 HBO special Life Is But a Dream.
Whatever it is, we'll find out when Lemonade airs Saturday, April 23 at 9/8c on HBO.
